I want to work on losing my head for the next record ... I don't want to lose it but it needs rerecording (not just remixing) on the piano ... it is a good song ... i would also like to run it into paperwieght or at least sit it next to paperweight on the enxt c.d. ... damo had the idea of putting "lenny" and "miss basset" out as bonus tracks - downloads links from the record ... spoke to disk edits
CD manufacture:
$600 mastering (with a particular view to bringing out the vocals)
$180 for 50 cds with simple artwork
$20 for 50 digipac trays (no covers)
approx $200 for printing of 50 digipack covers - we stick them together ourselves
we would probably need someone/fiona? to do the artwork (based on the mock up)... I will try and get a copy of photoshop for mac and a template ...
$1000 all up ... we have $50 in the kitty ($50 went to our 3D subscription) ... if we don't include the mastering cost then thats $8 a c.d. ... but we will need to give some away (radio stations etc)
the other option is to see if we can get a mastering deal somewhere/someone else for FREE ... ourselves ... audio school?print the c.d. ourselves (we could do any size run here - i have a printer but would need to buy ink ... $80 probably)
buy the trays - $20
get the artwork printed - $200 that's $300 and we could sell them for $10 ... sell 30 and recoup the costs
